The Unspoken

theunspoken

Our very first photography show for Middle Grey Photography Association was The Unspoken. It was the Welcome-to-Middle Grey-get-to-know-each-other-show, since we had a lot of new people and with new people comes new amazing photography, The Unspoken was a showcase of what every member of Middle Grey wanted to display about their own photo portfolios.

Caroline Baxter (our treasurer) was nice enough to let us use her house for this house show.

Middle Grey Photography Association at Texas State

Last Semester I was lucky to be named President of Middle Grey Photography Association at Texas State. I had lots of plans and exciting activities for the photography department and I am happy to say that we completed most of them. I learned a lot, and I am so grateful of the big support of the faculty and staff throughout the semester. Shoutout to Ricky Yanas, Ben Ruggiero, Barry Stone, and Jason Reed for being there to provide counsel, their time, opportunities and sometimes their curatorial expertise in a couple shows that wouldn't have been possible without their help (more about these shows in upcoming posts.

None of the activities would have been accomplished without the rest of the board and members.

Next semester will be lead by Derek Gonzalez so stay tuned for some awesomeness.

Photography Workshop by Nico Nordström

Nico Nordström is one of the most talented, sweetest individual and photographer I've met during my time at Texas State. She creates beautiful conceptual portraits and she is talented in all areas of photography. She is always looking for ways to challenge herself which is something that every artist should do.

Last semester, I was lucky to participate in a Photography Workshop with some other photo enthusiast where we learned basics of photography, lighting, what to bring on location, makeup and just little tips on how to make a photo shoot flow nicely.

The beautiful Lindsey agreed to be out model for the day. Benny and I where in charge of cooking the fajitas, and everybody brought delicious snacks! It was such a fun day!

Here are a couple of the photos taken by Nico showing some behind the scenes.

Check out more of Nico's work here.

This is the final photograph I took and edited of Lindsey.
