The setup I had in my apartment while shooting for La Linea Que Nos Une | The Line That Unites Us
Fall 2013... Started developing what is now going to be my thesis. Started with a concept and now I am happy to announce that it is now headed in a direction that I am really looking forward to. These are some of the behind the scenes snapshots of the series of interviews I did for The Line That Unites Us | La Linea Que Nos Une.
This project couldn't be possible without the help of every single person that participated. Thanks to Stephania, Paulina, Timothy, Carlos, Anailse, Andrea, Maria Jose, Leanne, Danielle and Whitley (for the lights).
I will keep you guys more updated as the project develops throughout this semester.
The first video featuring Leanne can be found here.

The Internship
I was very lucky to have the opportunity to work with an amazing non-profit called Stand for Children. Their mission is to ensure that all children, no matter what their background is, have the best education. I worked with amazing people that believed in the cause. It was so refreshing seeing how everyone in the organization whether they worked in the finance, tech, marketing departments, or as organizers would work with such a passion for children, of all ages.
I was the photography intern, so I was working with the entire Marketing and Communications National team. I just loved working with them. Learning everything I could from each of them. It was a collaboration of ideas every day. Creative people with great personalities. Thanks to every single one of you that made summer 2013 an incredible learning experience.
As the photography intern, I was in charge of creating an asset library that contained every single image that the organization had and to organize it and put it in a place where everyone in the marketing and communications team would be able to access it with no difficulty. I also attended different events that I photographed. It started with a literacy event, the National conference in New Orleans (I am so lucky to have gone too! I had so much fun), and at the end they flew me to Phoenix to photograph 'Es El Momento', an event organized with Univision that is meant to educate parents and their children on how to achieve a college education. I was in awe with the number of people that attended. Almost 6,000 people. Parents involved in their children's education is always a great thing. I also worked with the videographer, and had the opportunity to attend a video shoot that is meant to show and educate people on Common Core.
Another project that I worked at Stand For Children is taking the new National Staff head-shots and brainstorming of a good way to design the new Nation Staff page and display each profile. I am happy to say that this project is finished online, you can check out the Portraits I took of all the National Team here. The Tech team did an amazing job!
I am happy to say that my images have been used in projects such as national online campaigns, social media, website and national projects.
Check out their Facebook, Twitter and the Stand for Children Website to learn more about them and on how to get involved.
